An energy-efficient and reliable solution
Thanks to the low thermal conductivity and high water vapour resistance of the SPU insulation boards, no separate air or vapour barrier layer is necessary. When installing SPU insulation boards, the tightness of the seams is ensured with sealing foam. This means that SPU-insulated structures are very airtight. High airtightness means a correspondingly lower need for heating. SPU insulation boards are also superior in their moisture resistance characteristics, so even if the insulation board becomes wet during construction or moisture accidentally penetrates the structure, the SPU insulation board will not be damaged nor will its qualities deteriorate.
Saving space and costs
Thanks to the superior insulation capacity of SPU insulation boards, structures can be implemented with SPU insulation boards that are significantly thinner than conventional wool structures. SPU-insulated structures do not require a separate vapour barrier or wind-protective layer. This saves costs not only through lower energy consumption but also through the smaller amount of work and construction materials needed. SPU insulation boards save more useful space.
Easy to install
SPU insulation boards are easy to install by yourself. The rigid polyurethane boards can be cut, milled and drilled to extract measures. Normal tools such as a hand saw, Stanley knife and cordless drill are perfectly suitable. The SPU insulation boards are lightweight, so they are easy to handle even in tight spaces. Thanks to the small number of working phases, the installation of SPU insulation boards can be completed roughly twice as fast as the installation of normal insulation structures. At the same time, the likelihood of work errors is minimised.
Proven to be safe
SPU insulation boards do not become damaged by moisture or shrinkage, decay or mould, and their heat insulation qualities do not change over the years. SPU insulation boards are also fireproof - personal safety in an SPU-insulated house and a wool-insulated house is the same in a fire situation (

The effectiveness of SPU insulation boards has been tested in many independent studies conducted by, for instance, Tampere University of Technology (TUT) and the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT). SPU insulation boards were the first insulation boards to be granted the cleanest emissions classification of M1. SPU insulation boards bear the CE product marking and have a ten-year guarantee.
