SPU Ltd is a private Finnish company that manufactures and supplies construction materials. Our main products are SPU insulation boards and SPU Elements, which we have been manufacturing since 1977. Our strength lies not only in our products but also in our proven reliability as a business partner.
SPU insulation boards
SPU insulation boards are made of polyurethane and used in new building and renovation. They are suitable for all insulating needs, including floors, walls and roofing. Thanks to our product development programme, we have numerous packaged insulation solutions, both for insulation of saunas in summer cottages and for construction of zero-energy multi-storey apartment buildings.We have developed packaged passive and zero-energy building solutions, and by using these, energy-efficient buildings can be constructed safely, economically and ecologically.
Strong product development
We invest over 4% of our annual net turnover in research and development for our operations and products so that our products and solutions will generate even more added value for our customers. Successful R&D has made SPU Ltd the market leader in Finland, the Nordic countries and the Baltic countries. In 2010 our net turnover was over EUR 18 million and we employed 45 people in-house. Including transport and installation subcontractors, we employ over 90 people.We care for the environment
SPU Ltd is a pioneer from the environmental viewpoint, also. For example, since 2000 all the electricity we use has been generated through wind power. With regard to our products, SPU insulation boards were the first thermal insulation boards to be granted M1 indoor air classification. In normal buildings heating energy accounts for approx. 80-90% of the environmental impacts caused by buildings. For this reason, the correct use of products that conserve heating energy saves natural resources for future generations. Using SPU insulation boards, passive-energy building projects can be implemented in a simple, straightforward way, and we have supplied insulation boards for hundreds of low-, passive- and zero-energy buildings.Our production plants are located in Kankaanpää, Finland, and our products are sold and marketed in Finland, the Nordic countries, the Baltic countries and Russia. In Russia, we operate via our own business SPU System OOO, which is located in St. Petersburg.
