Anselmi ja Wilhelmi

  1. 1. Normal hand tools such as a handsaw and Stanley knife are suitable for working the insulation boards. A normal cordless drill is sufficient for drilling through SPU Anselmi and SPU Wilhelmi.
  2. 2. You can install SPU Anselmi and SPU Wilhelmi directly onto a healthy wall. Saw the boards to a height 15-20 mm less than room height.
  3. 3. If there is an old vapour barrier right underneath the surface board in the wall structure, drill holes into it with a 10 mm drill bit, approx. 10 holes/m2.
  4. 4. Apply a thin string of sealing foam before installing the first board into the vertical corner seam. Install the insulation board, supported by shims, approx. 10 mm above the floor. The plywood reinforcement needed for attaching the skirting board should be positioned at floor level when using the SPU Anselmi insulation board.
  5. 5. The space between screws is 300 mm and distance from the edge 15 mm. If you glue the boards to the wall, the space between the screws can be 450 mm. When installing onto the ceiling, the space between screws is 150 mm.
  6. 6. Apply a thin string of sealing foam into the tongue-and-groove seam between the boards. The SPU Anselmi and SPU Wilhelmi insulation boards form a sufficient vapour barrier in the structure, thus no separate vapour barrier needs to be used with them.
  7. 7. Apply foam to the lower and upper seams of the boards as well as the corners after fastening them. It is a good idea to protect the floor with, for instance, masking tape before applying the foam.
  8. 8. A butt joint is used for the corner installation. Apply a thin string of sealing foam into the seam between the boards.
  9. 9. You may implement electrical installations in various ways. You can leave old flush mountings in place by installing shims in the sockets. You can also implement the installation as a surface mounting. In this case, skirting boards and/or power skirtings that house cords are used for the electrical cords. Always comply with the electrical safety regulations valid at the time when performing electrical installations. Remember to carefully seal the lead-ins with sealing foam.
  10. 10. Remove extrusions after the sealing foam has dried.
  11. 11. SPU Anselmi is feather-edged, so glue a paper sealing tape onto the seams. When sealing SPU Wilhelmi, acrylic putty is recommended for seaming, as is generally used with chipboards.
  12. 12. Even out the seams with plasterboard filler before the final surface treatment. This ensures an even wall surface.
  13. 13. You can paint, wallpaper or tile the surface of SPU Anselmi according to the instructions of the plasterboard manufacturer. Apply surface treatment for SPU Wilhelmi as instructed by the chipboard manufacturer.
